A two car accident left three injured and one dead in Florida on August 18. The fatal crash involved a Jeep SUV and another car. The second car was carrying a 10-month-old baby and another passenger.

The driver of the SUV died at the scene of the accident. The driver and passenger of the other car were seriously injured. The baby is currently listed as being in critical condition at Shands hospital.

Early reports indicated that the Jeep SUV drove into the path of the second car and ran into a fence on the side of the road. The SUV then flipped over, killing the driver. Investigators have not determined what caused the SUV driver to enter the oncoming traffic lane.

The car carrying the infant swerved to miss the SUV and drove into a power pole. Paramedics took the driver and both passengers to the hospital to be treated for their injuries.

Car accidents of any sort can leave those involved reeling. Vehicle repair bills pile up, medical care is expensive and fatal car accidents leave loved ones with additional funeral costs. All of this leads to the importance of determining who was responsible for the accident.

The Florida Highway Patrol is expected to investigate this accident over the days to come. They have not currently determined the cause of the crash. Individuals who are injured in car or truck accidents caused by another person may be entitled to compensation for the expenses related to the crash.
