The U.S. Food and Drug Administration closed the medical product operations at Accurate Set after several violations at the manufacturing plant. The New Jersey company is accused of violating several quality control standards required for the manufacture of dental products.

The FDA has said that Accurate Set also failed to maintain a system for tracking and reviewing customer complaints of defective products. A court order sought by the FDA prevents the company from making or selling some of its dental products. In order to resume operations at the manufacturing facility, Accurate Set will have to undergo a review process by the FDA.

Similar to medical malpractice or medical product defects, dental malpractice or dental product defects can easily cause significant harm and injury. Dental and medical product manufacturers can be held liable for the harm they cause with their defective products. Damages in a lawsuit often include the costs of medical treatment past, present and future, pain and suffering and lost wages.

Infections, internal injuries, mouth sores, painful surgeries and permanent damage are all the side effects of defective medical products and dental products. It's important to consult with a knowledgeable Miami attorney if you suspect that a defective product or a medical error caused serious injury.
